Piedmont Elementary is pleased to welcome back Principal Shermoen to the Panther community!

Mrs. Shermoen brings a multitude of experience and knowledge to her role at Piedmont. She was our school leader for 6 years, but has served most recently as the Director of Coordinated Early Intervention & Supports and Equity with the Northland Learning Center serving districts across northern Minnesota.

Mrs. Shermoen's greatest strength, as a principal, is engaging, supporting and advocating for her staff, students, and families. She thrives when building partnerships and collaborating within our school community. She makes sure every student and stakeholder has a voice and feels heard and valued. She is equity focused and a strong advocate of student-centered inclusive practices to support student academic and social-emotional growth and success. She is also a systems, data and positive school attendance educator who leads by serving the whole child and whole school community. And, did we mention she loves working with kids!
